Erwin Jeneralczyk (PL) born. 1996
Erwin Jeneralczyk is a sound artist and researcher operating at the intersection of art and science. In 2023, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Intermedia at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 2024, his graduation project Noise Fields won the rst prize at the 10th Best Media Arts Graduation Projects Competition organized by the WRO Art Center. In 2022, he was awarded a scholarship for his activity in the eld of art by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as well as the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.
The artist’s works are transdisciplinary in nature, incorporating references to scientic contexts primarily rooted in neurobiology and cybernetics. Alongside sound, algorithms and computation serve as the main creative media. A recurring theme in the artist’s work is the exploration of perception and the search for non-anthropocentric denitions of consciousnes.
He has exhibited his work, among others, at the Ars Electronica Festival, Shefter Gallery, WRO Art Center, IP Studio, Museum of Contemporary Art MOCAK, the Krakow House in Nuremberg, and the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill.
As an sound artist and researcher, my work explores intersections of sound and experiments within emerging technologies. I am using computational methods as creative tools to explore nature of concious expirience. My practise bridges artistic intuition and scientic domains, particularly neurobiology and cybernetics. Immersing in the raw ow of diverse data streams I am fascinated by intricate phenomena that are accessible only through the lens of computational systems. Through the synthesis of various disciplines, I aim to explore the mechanisms of perception by broadening the denition of experience and knowledge. I engage with neural networks not simply as instrument but as ecosystem that offer new ways of sensing and interpreting the external world.
