(b. 1950 in Nan-Chou, Taiwan) – US artist and performer. He exhibited his pieces in America, Asia and Europe. The documentation of his “One Year Performance 1978-79” – “Cage Piece” was exhibited in 2009 as an installation in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, while his “One Year Performance 1980-81” – “Time Clock Piece” was featured in the 2009 exhibition The Third Mind: Artists Contemplate Asia, 1860-1989 in the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Hsieh took part in the Liverpool Biennale (2010), the Gwangju Biennale, South Korea (2010), and the São Paulo Biennal (2012). Since the 31st of December 1999, the date of completing his “Thirteen Year Plan” performance, he has not made any art work.
